Swing in to Surf ‘n’ Fries, Bondi Beach

Beachside eats just got better. If you’re looking for a super satisfying pre or post-swim feed, swing on in to Surf n’ Fries Bondi Beach — Campbell Parade’s newest chicken ‘n’ chips shop addition.

A guest and I sampled their mouth-watering menu at the venue’s official media launch — run by much-loved Sydney Content Creators: @sydneyfoodslut and @wearethehunted_. Mumm champagne was flowing like water, and in true Bondi spirit, guests hung out beyond the shop-front toward the street, enjoying an acoustic duo who entertained the crowd.

Surf ‘n’ Fries Bondi exudes relaxed beach vibes. With walls sprawled with tropical frangipani print, and actual swings for seats — it’s the perfect spot to grab a bite on a beach day, where you (and your surfboard) will be welcome.

Charismastic Surf ‘n’ Fries CEO, Val Perkovic greeted me with a warm smile and a ready handshake. He says, “This is a family business, I want the place to be warm and welcoming. I put the swings in so guests could feel like kids again.”

As for the food, the Surf ‘n’ Fries chicken is next-level tender. With specially shaped fries that are perfect for dipping, they’re soft on the inside with crunchy sugary ends. You can choose from burgers, chicken nuggets, or tenders — or try a bit of all of the above. The shop’s got some seating, but if you’re not keen to eat-in — Surf ‘n’ Fries serve your food in triple-compartment cone containers that let you hold your chicken, chips, and drink conveniently in one hand.

If you’re a condiments queen like yours truly, they’ve got a tonne of different toppings and dips on the menu. My favourite was a parmesan-flavoured aioli variety – it’s a guaranteed foodgasm. Drop in for the game-changing Mozarella Sticks too — because, I don’t know about you, but you just can’t go past deep-fried cheese.

Next time you’re famished after catching waves at Bondi, you can count on Surf ‘n’ Fries to deliver the goods by the bucket — it’s a shore thing.
