Time Out Food Awards 2018: all the winners

There’s no better party than a Time Out party. The team manages to pull out all the stops each year at their annual Time Out Food Awards and Time Out Bar Awards — and The Plus Ones is always on hand for the fun.

The 2018 Time Out Food Awards were held in Barangaroo at 12-Micron, a gorgeous venue bedecked in bouquets for the night of festivities. With a packed crowd of over 300 people, you might have been justified in worrying if you’d get any food or drinks. Not so, dear friends. We were instantly handed a delicious Old Fashioned from amazing Melbourne distillery Starward. There were endless wines from Jacob’s Creek Barossa Signature range on hand, plus all the craft beer you could handle from the delightful Gage Roads Brewing Co.

Where the night really shone was in the food (go figure!). 12-Micron’s affable servers kept the crowd fed with beetroot cigars, Starward whisky cured salmon, king prawns with lime and sesame, flank steak, potatoes with sour cream and chives, lamb ribs, and bite-sized ice creams. But the stars of the show were the two tables groaning under delicacies. One was a charcuterie station, with all the terrines and salumi you could handle; another was a cheese-lover’s dream. I’ve never seen anything more decadent.

Without further ado, here are the lucky winners.

A Time Out party always has the perfect touches — photos (from Fotobox) to post on your socials and even take home. But the best part of the night: your very own precious copy of Time Out Sydney magazine to take home and pour over.

I’ll be seeing you at all of these restaurants and cafes over the next year.
