For all of my self-professed Barossa Shiraz fiends, this one is for you. Peter Lehmann Wines have just launched BAROSSAN X, a revolutionary new range of red-hot drops that redefine the classic Barossa Valley Shiraz, with three exciting twists. Each varietal offers a fresh perspective on one of Australia’s most iconic favourite wines, and The Plus Ones got to try them first.
Aside from having an edgy wine label, The ‘Twisted Shiraz’ was the first to be sampled. This one’s got a Twist of Tempranillo. It’s a medium ruby-red with bright crimson hues. Boasts aromas of red cherry, Turkish delight, and ripe dried fig.. yum! Reach for this if you’re after something medium-bodied with a vibrant, bright finish.
The ‘Radical Shiraz’ is the one you want to pair with barbecue dishes or grilled meats. Or if you’re like me – you’ll enjoy it with a homemade burger. I made Jamie’s Oliver’s Insanity Burger, and this wine pairing went down a treat! This one features a Splash of Touriga. That means it’s got a ruby-red core, a purple hue, and aromas of red plum, blackberry, sour cherry, and dried thyme.
Last but not least, you’ve got the ‘Daring Shiraz’ in the Barossan X Range. If you don’t drink it for the super-cool colour alone, you might like its rich aromas of blueberry, plum, and dark fruits with a touch of violet and spice. Full-bodied, vibrant, and satisfying.
With Father’s Day around the corner, I wouldn’t delay grabbing dad one of these. At an accessible $23 price-point, it’s an absolute no-brainer gift for yourself or a friend. It’s true, the team at Peter Lehmann Wines are rewriting the rules on how we enjoy our reds.
The BAROSSAN X range dares you to celebrate all the different ways to enjoy your wine, while adding creativity and a touch of Barossa Valley charm in every sip!
Discover this range at Dan Murphys or BWS stores nationally, or online at the Peter Lehmann Website.
