Two of the best things in Sydney’s summer, combined: Zonin Prosecco and Watson’s Bay Boutique Hotel. The perfect end-of-summer bash pulled out all the stops for partygoers, adding a cherry on top to what’s been a fantastic summer. Luckily, there are plenty more warm days in autumn to keep us all raising a glass of Zonin Prosecco with friends.
Partygoers gathered Watson’s Bay Hotel’s upstairs room, overlooking the twinkling lights of Watson’s Bay Hotel below and the Sydney cityscape in the distance.
Inside, nautical touches were everywhere, from a rowboat filled with pillows to an oyster-shucking bar. Touches of the signature Zonin Prosecco turquoise abounded and made me wish I’d thought to wear my turquoise jewelry from Mexico to give a nod to the colour.
Glasses of Prosecco in hand, my +1 (Megan from Mode and Methodology, visiting from New Zealand) and I made our way through the crowd of stylish media and influencer invitees. In one corner, we spied a table abounding with cheese and charcuterie; in another, there was the aforementioned fresh oysters.
Outside, a quick stand in a queue got us heaping plates of pasta doused with seafood sauce, made from scratch in front of our eyes.
Zonin is Italy’s largest privately-held wine company, and the bubbles they produce are second to none. I almost — almost — felt guilty at the Pimp Your Prosecco Bar. Nah, who am I kidding? That was my favourite part of the whole night.
Lined up for our drinking pleasure: DIY cocktail elements. What to put into our prosecco? Strawberries? Passionfruit coulis? Mango juice? We returned several times to try out different concoctions. With a base as perfect as Zonin, anything goes perfectly.
The party had all the elements that make a perfect night: fabulous guests; endless food (still dreaming about the desserts); activities like Instagram photo printing; a magical venue in Watson’s Bay Hotel; and above all, the most fantastic drinks.
