Sapphire hour has landed in Sydney.

A new study has revealed that two-thirds of Aussies have become busier in the last few years, with almost half claiming they struggle to catch up with friends. A concerning trend in an era where connection is more essential than ever.

To combat this disconnection, Channel Seven commentator, Abbey Holmes, has paired up with jewel of the gin world, Bombay Sapphire to launch Sapphire Hour – an initiative designed to encourage Aussies to pause during the daylight savings’ extra hour of sunlight over a refreshing Bombay and Tonic.

Abbey explains “In a world that never slows down, it’s easy to get swept away with the daily grind; I can admit I’m guilty of letting time get away from me. After

completing Grand Final Week—the busiest time of my year—I realise how important it is to slow down and appreciate life’s beauty, and Sapphire Hour reminds us to take a break and reconnect with loved ones this summer.”

On Wednesday evening The Plus Ones were invited to celebrate the launch of Sapphire Hour at Surry Hills’ Clock Hotel. Guests were invited to enjoy a Bombay and Tonic (complete with a personalised garnish station), a soldered bracelet from Alana Maria Jewellery along with an illustration from Erin Whitty to complement the evening.

You too can indulge in Sapphire Hour with family and friends this summer. As part of the campaign Bombay Sapphire have teamed up with The Clock to launch Sapphire Sundays, where you can enjoy $10 B&Ts, food deals and DJs every Sunday throughout October.
