Whitley Neill

An evening with Whitley Neill

As the sun was setting over Watson’s Bay, Sydney-siders were celebrating one very new arrival. Whitley Neill’s has landed down under – the UK’s number one Gin.

Creator, Johnny Neill is a born gin maker; his unique blend is created with his love for Africa and his English heritage. Bold flavours like Blood Orange, Rhubarb & Ginger – my personal favourite, and Parma Violet only prove his extraordinary distilling talent. Using a small copper pot and a traditional style London dry gin, Neill combines African botanicals like lemon peel and coriander to create the most delicious concoctions.

On arrival, my plus one and I were greeted with a cocktail created especially for the event – the ‘Ginsecco’. It was a brilliant blend of Parma Violet gin and prosecco, with edible violets. What I love about the Whitley Neill gin range is how the botanical flavours are so distinct, yet for a gin, the range is so smooth to drink! Each drink can be served with tonic water or simply served straight up.

Celebrity Chef, Anna Polyviou wowed us with bespoke desserts using the Whitley Neill raspberry gin. Jelly flavoured macaroons, sweet tarts garnished with fresh berries and mousse cups were on the menu for the evening and they did not disappoint.

Whitley Neill’s fabulous gin range has now hit Aussie shores just in time for summer. Did someone say Gin o’clock?
