A new bio-musical Elvis: A Musical Revolution hit the stage at the beautiful Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne this week. The show explores the life of the legendary performer from his childhood in Mississippi, through to his crowning as the King Of Rock n’ Roll.Featuring over 40 hit songs, Elvis: A Musical Revolution celebrates the extraordinary life of the cultural icon, Elvis Presley and pays tribute to the people that inspired and influenced his meteoric rise to fame.

This brand-new high-energy production explores the pivotal moments in Elvis’s life and music career through the perspectives of those who knew him best.

Songs include all the hits you would know; Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, That’s All Right, All Shook Up, Suspicious Minds, Heartbreak Hotel, Burning Love, Blue Suede Shoes, Good Rockin’ Tonight, Can’t Help Falling In Love, Don’t Be Cruel, A Little Less Conversation and way more.Theatre and television star Rob Mallett plays the iconic role of Elvis.

You may have seen Mallett on the main stage in other Australian musicals such as Disney’s Aladdin, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Singin’ In The Rain, and Australian television programs such as Home & Away and House Husbands.

Mallett nails Elvis’s iconic hip-thrusting dance moves, charisma and larger than life persona and was a natural when it came to belting out the classic tunes we all know and love. Performing the role of Elvis Presley’s mother Gladys is Noni McCallum (Come From Away, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Muriel’s Wedding), with Ian Stenlake (Sea Patrol, Stingers, Mamma Mia) playing Elvis’ manager who we love to hate, Colonel Parker.

Annie Chiswell (Mamma Mia) performs the role of Priscilla Presley and Kirby Burgess is an absolute standout who shines on stage as Hollywood actress Ann-Margaret. Following a smash hit season at Sydney’s State Theatre, the musical is set to rock Melbourne audiences for the next little while, so don’t miss out.
