Summer is just around the corner with a few 30 degree days featuring here and there. As the approaching warm weather hits, getting the crew together for some rooftop brews is definitely on the agenda. Just in time the freshly renovated Corner Hotel Rooftop has opened and The Plus Ones had the first sneak peek at what’s in store at the venue.
My plus one and I finished work and were keen to have a beverage or two at our old Richmond stomping ground. As we arrived at the venue we were glad to see its original charm done justice to. The venue now features extended areas with lots of nooks and crannies to perch yourself in.
The two well-stocked bars were pumping out drinks over the evening. The charming, and efficient, staff meant that there was no waiting around to be served. The beverage list highlighted the recently-released Johnnie Walker Rye. I am a huge Bourbon fan and I was impressed by its smooth flavour.
Along with copious amount of booze, the kitchen was delivering some perfectly-paired fare such as juicy barbecued chorizo hotdogs and chilli-grilled corn that were a delight with the punters. The hot dogs were my favourite of the night, and I managed to polish off a couple before hitting up the bar again.
The design scheme of the venue is filled with natural tones of timber, polished concrete, and terracotta. There is lots of greenery throughout the space, and while the make-over is lavish it still retains a hint of that grunge edge of the old rooftop that we all know and love.
So as the weather heats up, The Corner Hotel is a must-add to your next rooftop bar crawl. They are open to the public as of this week so get down this weekend and check it out yourself!
