I was giddy with anticipation when the email “Your Daily Guide to Pause Fest” arrived. With the creative tech conference spanning three full days and a myriad of additional events throughout the week (many of which are free), Pause Fest certainly knows the way to a Plus Ones’ heart.
This is the biggest Pause Fest yet and inspiration is guaranteed. At the core of the festival is the three-day conference focusing on the essential elements of a start-up: creative, tech, and business. I walked out of the conference on day one excited about the innovative concepts, my mind more open to new possibilities. Highlights from the creative day included Alice Kimberley’s fierce presentation on female culture, Matt Newell’s discussion on irrational retail (and why I line up for Gelato Messina), and Jon Gold lighting up Twitter with his AI design talk.
In addition to the conference, there’s also an exciting range of events with everything from free film screenings in Fed Square to a conversation on Starward’s new world whisky brand, not to mention kick-off and closing night parties. Maximize your Pause Fest experience and drop into the Envato lounge upstairs at Beer DeLuxe with your business design problems. They might even shout you a beer during happiness hour. Or check out the satellite events . (You can channel your inner Plus One and register for Eventbrite’s free event workshop.)
The Pause tagline is ‘don’t miss the next big thing.’ I agree – check out the schedule and don’t miss out on all the experiences happening around the city this week.

Jenny S is an event addict. When she’s not soaking up new knowledge at a conference, you can find her sampling the latest craft beer or sipping a creative cocktail.
