Pétanque Social ain’t your usual bar along Crown Riverwalk. Despite the hustle nearby, this joint’s got a cozy vibe, surrounded by stacks of greenery that make it feel like a little oasis in the middle of it all.

The drinks were spot on. They have a range of spring/summer inspired cocktails, as well as a selection of spirits and wine. My drink of choice was the Spicy Tommy’s Margarita – sweet, sour, and a kick that hit the spot.

As for the eats, we went for pizzas from 400 Gradi – proper choice, I think. We dived into the Diavola, stacked with San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, and hot salami. My guest opted for the Mushroom and Olive pizza. Fresh out of the oven, both were crisp, tasty and proved why 400 Gradi is still a big deal in the Melbourne pizza game.

What we loved most about the venue is they’ve got several different spots to hang out – one near the big screen for sports lovers, another around the main bar, and even a smokers paradise. We picked a cozy riverside table.

The bar service was impeccable—a shout out to the attentive and efficient staff who’s friendly vibe added to the allure of this riverside haven.
