A Snapshot of Summer at Summertime Social

We are officially more than halfway through summer. (How did that happen?!) If, like me, you’re just getting started on making the most of the (mostly) sunny season, I recommend popping into the Summertime Social pop-up in Federation Square. When the Plus Ones team paid a visit, we thought we were lining up for one of the most packed events in the city. It turns out we were accidentally in the replacement bus line. But once we made our way over the skyline terrace, we in for a treat. The pop up venue offers one of the best views of the city, cute photo ops in boozy beach houses, and summer lawn games that never go out of style.

Our visit started with a fountain pouring refreshing spritzy cocktails and an expansive spread of nibbles inspired by the weekly bottomless brunches. We then sampled a selection of the woodfired pizzas and the best lobster rolls this side of Maine. Seriously, DO NOT MISS the lobster rolls! After eating our fill of delicious crustaceans, we moved on to lawn games and lane games. The lawn is stacked with communal games best played with a drink in hand (think corn-hole, giant jenga, and a ring toss.) If you’re feeling competitive, book a session of shuffle board, skittles, or bocce ball. Ten dollars will buy you a twenty minute session on the lanes and bragging rights for the winners. Located in Fed Square, the pop-up venue couldn’t be more convenient for after-work drinks with colleagues or mates. Entry is free for lounging on the astro-turn lawn. Alternatively, if you’re getting a group together, the caravans are another good option. As someone who was born and raised in small town America, the concept of drinking in a trailer sounds mildly terrifying. But never fear — these caravans are super cute and they also come with package deals.

Pop into Fed Square for Summertime Socials’ photogenic pop-up before it’s too late. It’s definitively a better alternative to waiting for a replacement bus!
