Dive into Ketel One’s Botanical Vodkas at Arbory Afloat

Move over mimosas and take a sideline white wine – there’s a new smooth-sipping spritz in town. Ketel One Vodka is making a splash with their trio of Botanical Vodkas. The Plus Ones were invited to preview a selection of refreshing drinks at Melbourne’s favourite floating bar – Arbory Afloat. It turns out lounging on the upper deck with riverside views and a spritz in hand is an ideal way to spend a summer evening. (Who knew?!)

Ketel One Botanical Vodka is a modern take on a vodka brand with a long history. It’s produced by a distilling family in Holland who traces the brand’s heritage back 11 generations and 327 years. Holland is widely considered the birthplace of gin, so it’s not surprising to see the family drawing inspiration from botanical flavours. The new range comes in three varieties with an aromatic Cucumber & Mint, a smooth and sweet Grapefruit & Rose, and a floral perfumed Peach & Orange Blossom.

The spirit has been gaining popularity in the brunch scene as a beverage that will wake you up before you go-go, without weighing you down. It’s lower in alcohol (30% ABV) than traditional vodkas (40% ABV) and is only 50 calories per 30 ml serve. Just a word of warning – it can make the fruit infused spritzes just a little too easy to drink.
