The place to be on a Friday night: Blue Diamond nightclub on Queen Street. Their new Jet Set Fridays series has all the happy hour specials your heart desires: $5 Coopers and wines; $7 Chandon, Tanqueray gin, Havana Club rum; and $10 espresso martinis and Pimm’s Cup. You can also do as The Plus Ones did: order a grazing platter to serve at your private booth, which comes complete with a bottle of Chandon. Not to mention there are stellar views over Melbourne.

Blue Diamond is one of those venues that’s so cool it makes you feel like you’re an extra in some big budget rap video featuring Action Bronson. Magnums of champagne, delicious flash-fried calamari — it’s completely pimping. With the stunning panoramic views of Melbourne from the high side of Queen Street, this is a venue for a special occasion or hip-hop album launch.

Blue Diamond with the TPO Crew was an evening of refreshing cocktails, banter and laughs. My first week into the The Plus Ones, I was so happy to connect with the other writers to get to know them, their TPO experiences, and really just to have fun.
We had a prime booth position of the club, and a delicious grazing platter of nibbles — plus Blue Diamond has rooftop views of Melbourne. Lots of fun, and grateful for the cocktails. Thanks so much for having me!

The words ‘penthouse nightclub’ immediately invoke images of glamour and luxury and on this front, Blue Diamond certainly delivers. Cosy booths deliver a pretty amazing view of the city, which is best accompanied with a champagne flute in hand. While I wouldn’t stay here the whole night, it’s great for a relaxed after work drink in a stylish setting.

Blue Diamond most definitely had a sleek feel, and an environment that served well for unwinding after work, or instigating the shenanigans of the weekend ahead. With a large and open penthouse space with windows all around, it was a pleasure to watch the cityscape morph from daylight, to dusk, and then to the excitement of the city lights at night — all while the champagne flowed.
