Boozy Brunch – St. Hotel

Boozy Brunch is a decadent Sunday session inspired by similar ventures in London and New York. It’s designed to bring together three key elements: fashion, food and entertainment — not to mention lots of premium liquor! Each Boozy Brunch is unique with the team’s creative juices combining to bring Melburnians a special experience.

St. Hotel in St. Kilda played host to the team’s first Boozy Brunch of 2016. I had never been to the venue but liked the distinct, light-drenched spaces. On arrival, we were greeted with a welcome scotch from Pure Scot and a couple of delectable cocktails courtesy of Fred Siggins, who must by now surely be Melbourne’s bartender-in-chief. As the drinks flowed, and the glamorous folk poured in, we happily socialised with our fellow Boozy Brunchers.

The food, several courses of it, was carefully matched with wines and cocktails. Picture crisp whites with seafood, rich reds with lamb, and tons of delectable salads. Did I mention the cocktails? Oh yep, Scotch-based espresso martinis flowed during dessert!

A feature of the boozy outings is the fashion show and entertainment that unfolds while you’re sitting down to your meal. The fashion, dj setup, and live entertainment were, as always, on point. I particularly enjoy how the team crafts its events so that you experience multiple locations within a venue during the afternoon. This leaves ample room for socialising with the rest of the crowd rather than just your table-mates.

The event lasted from 12-7pm with lots of dancing and smiles. If you’re lucky to snare a table at the next one, make sure you keep a clear morning-day-evening!
