The Plus Ones were delighted to be ushered into a fresh chapter of QT Melbourne’s iconic Rooftop at QT on Thursday. The venue has been a luxurious mainstay of the city’s rooftop bar culture, and has lead the way for the offerings now found across town.
The Rooftop at QT opening night went down in The Plus Ones the history books seven years ago, now they have upped their game with a complete refresh that takes the venue somewhere extraordinary.
When we arrived at the QT lobby we were greeted with a G.H. Mumm Champagne handshake and whisked-away by the Director of Chaos to the lifts, ascending to the eleventh floor.
As we entered the refreshed space, my plus one and I were captivated by the chic and vibrant atmosphere. The ambiance was electric, and we couldn’t help but feel like we were on top of the world.
As for the drinks, the rooftop bar boasts an impressive selection of cocktails, wines, and craft beers. The mischievous mixologists behind the bar crafted cocktails that were as visually stunning as they were delicious.
We were able to sample a number of the cocktails through the night, with our favourite being Green with Envy, a perfect blend of Hendrick’s Gin, Pavan grape liqueur, peach liqueur, honeydew, cucumber and lemon. Whether you prefer a espresso martini or an innovative concoction, the bartenders at Rooftop at QT have a flair for creating drinks that are nothing short of perfection.
Alongside the cocktails, there was plenty of roving delicacies from their new menu. The standouts were the yellow fin tuna, avocado, harissa, labneh on a seed cracker and the fried mortadella sando with provolone cheese & bulldog sauce, the later of which you will only find on their function menu.
The ecstatic entertainment on the night was provided by the fantabulous Tanzer, who looked stunning, serving NYC club kid, mirrorball-realness. We were surprised throughout the night with jaw-dropping aerial hoop acts, an epic oyster and dessert bar, with the cherry on the cake being very special guests, Client Liaison who had the dancefloor happening late into the night.
The service at Rooftop at QT is top-notch. The crew are not only attentive and knowledgeable but also genuinely passionate about ensuring guests have a memorable time. Their warm hospitality added an extra layer of charm to the entire experience, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our visit.
The relaunch of Rooftop at QT is a triumph. It’s a destination that effortlessly combines style, culinary excellence, and entertainment, creating a haven where guests can escape the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary.
