The Cointreau Margarita Kombi has arrived at the Night Noodle Market. The Plus Ones were invited along on Friday night to give you the low-down on all things sweet, sour and salty.
While there are all kinds of twists on the classic, Cointreau Margaritas are the original (and we vote the best!). The original margarita was created in 1948 by American socialite, Margarita Sames, for a star-studded pool party in Acapulco. It’s perfect blend of tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, a salt rim – and the critical ingredient, Cointreau.
The Kombi is parked on the upper concourse after passing through the Federation Bells. On arrival we were greeted by our fabulous host, Sophie, from the Maven PR team. Within seconds we had a couple of frosty margs in-hand.
On the night you’ll have the choice of original, or spicy, the later of which is fired-up with a dash of tabasco and a chilli-salt rim. We loved both options, but the spicy will definitely fire you up to cruise the market stalls with an extra spring in your step.
The Hoy Pinoy crew are right next door, serving up some of the most authentic Filipino bbq and street food this side of Manila. We munched our way through the entire menu, which pares incredibly well with a marg or two.
The Plus Ones had a fantastic night out, so be sure to check out Night Noodle Market and experience your own tasty adventure with a Cointreau Original Margarita.
Entry is free, and includes a range of entertainment across all the remaining dates.
The Cointreau Margarita Kombi is located at Night Noodle Market, Birrarung Marr, until Sunday 27 November.
