Join Olympic Gold Medallist Snowboarder, Torah Bright, as she shreds peeks from Antarctica to Alaska in MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE 3D: Out of Bounds. A high octane 45 minute journey across powder covered mountains, with a important message at its core.
It was my plus one and I’s first time back at IMAX in a number of years, and walking into the auditorium we were reminded of the sheer size of the screen. I am one of those weirdos that like to sit in the first front rows, because I like to feel that I could fall off my seat and into the movie, which definitely happened numerous times during this awesome 3D screening.
We parked our butts down and tucked into some delicious choc tops and champagne as we waited for the film to commence. As much as I love a movie night at home, nothing compares to this.
The films beginning packs a cheeky punch, with Torah twerking like a boss on the top of a mountain. She is just so loveable from the get-go, which becomes an important element in delivering the films heart of sustainability and environmental awareness.
Torah joins forces with backcountry legend Jeremy Jones and free-skiing superstar Sammy Carlson who take us on a thrilling extreme sports adventure across some of the most jaw dropping landscapes on earth, and we even get to meet some adorable Chin-Strap penguins along the way.
After the film, Torah joined director, Caspar Mazzotti, for a Q&A to discuss the challenges of getting the film out to cinemas during the COVID situation, and their pleasure to finally launch this film on the IMAX screen was evident. Torah, as equally adorable and passionate as she is presented in the film, speaks about the importance of protecting these harsh, but equally beautiful landscapes, and all the life that exists there.
A highly enjoyable and meaningful film that adults will love as much as the kids. My plus one and I are looking forward to getting back to IMAX, even if its just for our next choc-top craving. (Pro tip: Definitely double-dip your choc-top in the popcorn, YUM!)
