Established in 2003, 3 Ravens claims the title of Melbourne’s oldest independent brewery. The independent spirt is clear upon entering their Thornbury brewery. More than likely you’ll be greeted with a friendly smile and a bearded bartender at the handcrafted bar whilst sharing a pint with local teachers and creative co-workers in the shadow of brewing equipment.
Now the team is slapping a slick coat of paint on their cans and updating their core range beers. The three new beers launched this week aim to reflect the current craft beer drinking culture in Australia. There’s a Tropical Pale Ale, Australian Pilsner, and New World IPA. Head brewer Brendan O’Sullivan explains, “We are championing New World ingredients (such as hops from Australia, New Zealand and America) in pale, balanced and sessionable beers that are full flavoured, refreshing and a little lighter in alcohol.”
Patrons can taste the new brews for themselves at the CAW Range launch party at the brewery. The shenanigans kick off with $5 cans (you can taste the whole range twice at those prices!) The after work crowd will have the chance to chat with the brewers from 5-6pm. Carnie can games, prizes and a party DJ set from Melbourne Music Boutique round out the evening’s entertainment.
