Stephen Amos is a Melbourne Comedy Festival pro. He has been attending the festival and entertaining Melburnians for over a decades, and this year he has two performances! An intimate talk show and the larger ‘The Laughter Master’. I was lucky enough to get my hands on some tickets to ‘The Laughter Master’ and did enjoy ever so much.
Amos explores several issues throughout his performance: modern social media, family, the 24 hour news cycle. His focus on the dreaded comments section of social media particularly resonated. Mere mention of the comments section sends shivers of dread down any social media manager’s spine and Amos highlights why, as only he can.
Amos is an entertainer and a master of laughter. I always love the way he engages the crowd in his performance and this was no exception (stay away from the front rows if you’re shy!). Testament to his skills as a comedian, there were people in the audience that had seen him for the third time during the festival. If you want a greater recommendation I can think of no other than repeat business to what surely is the same show each night!
There is a reason Amos is a international headliner at the Comedy Festival each year. If you have the chance have a gander.
