Southern hospitality has arrived at Southbank with the annual Jack Daniel’s Barrel House pop up. We got a taste of the venue, festivities, and Jack’s finest at the launch event.
The purpose made pop up has some real down home Tennessee vibes with old barrels lining the walls, dim lighting, and a rusted steel exterior. The interior flaunts a bar backlit with flaming cauldron barrels and a stage where over 40 Australian musicians will be performing over the next three weeks.
Grab a few drinks and catch some live music, or head outside to the beer garden and ogle over the stunning Melbourne skyline and Yarra River. Music lovers can find artists such as Harts, D’Arcy Spiller, Japanese Wallpaper, Asta, and many more on the full line up list.
Jack’s bartenders are mixing whiskey based cocktails including the famous Lynchburg Lemonade (named after Jack’s hometown), Jack & Ginger Beer, Jack Daniel’s Honey & Dry, and my favourite, Gentleman Jack & Fresh Apple – the perfect thirst quencher for a hot summer afternoon.
A Jack Daniels event wouldn’t be complete without some smoky southern BBQ. San Antone By Bludso’s BBQ is serving up all the comfort foods; pulled pork sandwiches, chilli dogs, and chicken jalapeno sausages.
The Jack Daniel’s Barrel House Pop up is open through December 3 along Southbank. Entry is free, so make your way down and enjoy a cocktail and some live music with a good dosage of Southern hospitality.
