If you are looking for multi-bill shows to get a feel for the variety of comics performing at the Comedy Fest, I cannot recommend more strongly adding Rose Callaghan & Mates 2: Return of the Mates to your calendar. Rose is a powerhouse of engaging and relatable comedy. She’s a definitive hostess deserving of a lot of attention.

There is something to be said about being drawn into understanding a comic’s woe and perception of the world that draws parallels to your own. Rose has a beauty, a sass, a vulnerability, and a powerful self-reflection that is instantly likable, immersible, and ultimately hilarious — no matter which way the material is directed. The overall feel of the evening is warm and inviting, setting the mood for the guests to seamlessly feel comfortable to do what they do best. (In this case the vibrant Kelly Fastuca and the spot on expertise of Wil Sylvince.)

Finding the venue is an interesting experience in itself, something the Rose herself has homourously alluded to. Once inside you are in talented and very capable hands, and willing to be swept into her tastefully crude and ultimately lovable perceptions. See Rose’s hosting right up until April 18th at 22 Sutherland Street (the entrance is off the side).
