Meat, Cheese, and Spirits at Block Butcher Bar

Described as the more intimate bar of the Low Brau establishment duo, Block Butcher Bar does set the tone for a more intimate get together – the smaller space, tables for smaller groups and much quieter than it’s partner next door. But it is by no means exclusive to just date nights. Block Butcher is very small group friendly. I went with two friends for a birthday dinner. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves and put up with us toasting “Happy Birthday” to embarrass my friend every time we got a new drink or dish. In the middle of the meal, we got our own celebrity sighting of Mayor Kevin Johnson, who sat down for a bite to eat.

Regarding the menu, I liked how we could custom pick our meat and cheese plate assortment. The meat and cheese platters are all on one board and accompanied by delicious things like honey and Marcona Almonds. I especially enjoyed the Deviled Duck Eggs on toast (photo below). Who doesn’t love deviled eggs?
