Honeycomb Badgers on Acid is Nicole Henriksen’s fourth full-length comedy show. She is a little ball of energy- we entered the room to her poised artistically in the middle of the audience’s seats, and gathering coats from the audience, before playing ‘the floor is lava’ all the way back to the stage to commence the show. Honeycomb badgers is a multimedia extravaganza- singing, interpretive dancing, poetry and short artistic films. You’ve got to admire anyone who can attribute each piece of their handmade clothing to a separate emotional breakdown (all I manage to create is empty ice-cream containers).
Nicole has strong feelings about skinny white boys and their failure to text back. Even death is no excuse. And she came out with what is possibly my favourite quote of all time: “I like my men like I like my chopsticks. Skinny, white, and easily snapped in half”.
Nicole Henriksen’s show is one hell of a night on the town, and I’d doubt any two shows would be the same.
