Yesterday The Plus Ones were invited to an intimate dinner event in the Garden Room at The Winery in Surry Hills, showcasing various delicious cocktails made with The Botanist Gin, and featuring strikingly beautiful centrepieces from Eden + Bell.
Each of the four sharing plates was expertly paired with a different gin cocktail, crafted to highlight the various botanicals within The Botanist Gin (there are 22 in total, all hand foraged on the Scottish island of Islay). We were delighted by wild aromas of mint, thyme, sweet gale and chamomile; rich and mellow flavours, a round mouthfeel and a wonderful citrus freshness.
The dinner was held to promote the Christmas collaboration between The Botanist Gin and Sydney florist Eden + Bell, who have designed a stunning table centrepiece to complement the Islay gin by using plants and flowers that are reminiscent of the botanicals used in the gin and found on Islay.
Using all Australian produce, the centrepiece uses influences from The Botanist Gin and replicates them in an authentic way by using gum, holly and chamomile to make up the arrangement.
To celebrate the collaboration, a Christmas gift pack has been created. It includes a 700ml bottle of The Botanist Gin, plus the stunning table Eden + Bell centrepiece – meaning that the table decorations are covered, as the striking centrepiece can take centre stage, and the drinks can flow, since The Botanist Gin can be used in a variety of classic cocktails.
This perfect Christmas entertaining gift pack for the festive season ($220) can be bought from edenandbell.com, while The Botanist Gin 700ml can be purchased at many leading liquor retailers (RRP $86).
Go on, treat yourself! Salut!
