What better way is there to round out a Wednesday than on board a luxury superyacht sailing Sydney’s stunning harbour? To kick off the official start of the Summer season, The Plus Ones were invited on board the exclusive Cointreau Love Boat, (i.e. the Ghost II superyacht) for an evening of delicious, flavoured margaritas, gourmet canapes, live music and good vibes.
Guests were invited to sip, learn and enjoy the latest cocktail creations with Cointreau this summer – in particular the (not-so-humble) margarita, which were served to Sydney-siders in three easy-to-drink flavours.
The superyacht set sail in time for us all watch the sun go down while grooving to the tunes of a live saxophonist and singer duo serving up all the crowd favourites.
It’s unlikely you’ve not heard of Cointreau before: a triple-sec, orange-flavoured liqueur produced in fancy Barthélemy-d’Anjou, France. It’s hard to go past its iconic orange colour and retro-brown bottle – but even more unforgettable is its refreshingly juicy taste – consumed as an aperitif and digestive, and often the star performer in a plethora of well-known cocktails.
Since we’re all about sharing the love, read on for recipes on how to shake these up at home in time for the festive season.
It’s official – Cointreau is the drink of the summer!
