Candle-making class for The Botanist Gin

Is there anything more iconic than a classic gin martini, with a twist of lemon? To officially launch a new scented candle collaboration with The Candle Library, The Plus Ones were invited along to a delightful afternoon of candle making, high tea and gin cocktails – brought to us by The Botanist Gin.

Hosted at Angel Aromatics in Sydney’s inner west, guests had the opportunity to create personalised scented candles, inspired by the aromatics found in The Botanist Gin. Gin-lovers, rejoice! If you haven’t tried this one yet, The Botanist Gin packs a punch. Known for its 22 wild-foraged botanicals that make up its unforgettable flavour, The Botanist is one of those spirits that go down easy.

Seated at intimate tables of four, media and influencers were guided through the stages of creating a Sea Salt and Bergamot scented candle, while sipping on The Botanist Gin dry martinis and enjoying bite-sized snacks and sandwiches. The brand’s cocktail connoisseur talked us through how to make the perfect dry gin martini – explaining how the martini is the ideal drink for appreciating impeccable flavour. I was blown away by the fact that The Botanist Gin is B-corp certified, and distilled on the quaint island of Islay in Scotland. Rich, complex and balanced with deep layers of flavour, The Botanist Gin has a satin smooth taste that glides across the palate.

After a hot wax pour and a stir, we were presented with the beautiful candles we had created. Meanwhile, the picturesque venue was filled with flowers, greenery and unforgettable scents that tantalised the senses. Among the celebrity guests was former Miss Iran Shirin Heidari, model Shima Khosravi and model Eclair Piya.
