It’s a Saturday afternoon, the sun is out, and I’m enjoying a fizzy mimosa while listening to artfully mixed Afrobeats and happy pop music. Life is good. The venue? Sydney’s beloved bar-by-night, brunch-expert-by-day, ‘Since I Left You,’ during their bottomless brunch event, ‘Brunch With…Arona Mane’.
SILY’s gorgeous courtyard undoubtedly provided the perfect venue for a weekend brunch, surrounded by vibrant street art murals, dainty fairy lights, and trendy brickwork. Their garden stage hosted one of Australia’s most in-demand music producers, Arona Mane, who was pumping out chill and happy tunes which set the scene in the courtyard. Around us, people were chatting, sipping on delicious cocktails, bopping heads to the tunes, and as expected, taking pictures of the picturesque surroundings.
Speaking of cocktails: if you’re a sucker for a good cocktail with your brunch, this one has you covered. With an hour and a half of bottomless cocktails, SILY made sure that you weren’t caught without a drink in your hand. From bubbly mimosas to refreshing Aperols, the bar provided a fabulous selection of day-appropriate cocktails to go with their scrumptious menu.
The brunch menu provided an excellent selection for those with dietary requirements, with dishes covered for vegans and vegetarians. The meal started out with delicious savoury waffles made from potato, covered in a fresh and tangy Mexican-esque avocado and corn mixture. A buffet table was then set up in the courtyard, showcasing platters of fried chicken, glossy brioche buns, a fresh selection of salads, coleslaw, and many sauces. Even after loading our plates up with the delicious food, the menu was fresh and didn’t leave us in a food coma for the rest of the day.
SILY’s private brunch is the perfect way to spend a sunny Saturday with your pals. Needless to say, my expectations for my next brunch are now set unreasonably high.
