Helping Sydney-siders truly kick off the festive season and with the long-awaited revoking of CBD’s lock-out laws, there was no better way to celebrate than to attend Time Out’s 12th annual Sydney Bar Awards, held at the PowerHouse Museum.
Dressed to impress and ready celebrate the old, the new and the most experimental in the hospitality scene, my plus one and I were spoilt for choice when it came to packing our plates from over-flowing cheese and antipasti tables not to mention the parked up food trucks in the courtyard – all nicely complimented by a continuous supply of Gin & Fever-Tree tonic, wine and for the more daring Fireball.
So, be sure to check out the list below for the ultimate winners and your next watering hole:

With host Matt Okine, wrapping up the ceremony, it was time for my plus one and I to hit the dance floor and challenge the earlier live performances from the Imperial Hotel drag queens, 1980s Lycra-clad dancers Retrosweat and Sydney Festival’s global hip-hop dance act Two Crews.
