In celebration of summer, pink wine, and the launch of their new Rosé Reservation Service, Cellarmasters recently held their ‘ultimate rosé experience’ – an exclusive event for a handful of loyal customers. The Plus Ones were invited to attend the launch at Rosé Royale, the world’s first Rosé only bar and restaurant.
From the pink beverages, pink dress code, and pink decorative theme, the evening really was an homage to the pink drink. The VIP treatment started from the moment we arrived, and didn’t let up until the very end of the evening. We started off with complimentary glasses of pink bubbles, soon found our way to a mouth watering grazing table, and spent time with the Head Winemaker of a Hunter Valley winery. To top it all off we drank and learnt about several different types of rosé, enjoyed scintillating conversation with the other guests, and had photographers to capture the glamorous and intimate evening.
Pepper Tree’s Head Winemaker, Gwyn Olsen, manned one of three wine bars in the venue. She chatted to Cellarmasters’ customers about her own light dry wine, affectionately called Gwyn Olsen’s Unicorn, and later talked to us all passionately about Australia’s current rosé renaissance. Noting that winemakers are making the drink intentionally now, she was especially excited about the dawning of a new Australian relationship with the varietal – one where we can enjoy a grown up rosé, rather than the sweet passion pop style drinks of our youth.
Each of the three bars served a different drink –- sweet, dry, and bubbly — all working together to highlight the vast differences in flavour and variety that pink wine has to offer. And all available through Cellarmasters’ new subscription service.
