Hyde Hacienda Sydney Bar + Lounge launches on Circular Quay

The hottest new destination in Sydney is Hyde Hacienda Sydney Bar + Lounge in Circular Quay. Hyde Hacienda is all about dinner, drinks, and dancing – with a focus on table service, private booths, weekend DJs, and bar theatrics.

The Plus Ones were alongside the 170+ guests invited to the launch party. It featured: a millennial-pink carpet, free-flowing champagne, light displays, a super yacht, amazing food, and Ferraris stationed outside the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour hotel’s two entrances. It was a night of sheer decadence, a harbinger of great nightlife to come.

Formerly known as just Hacienda, the name change comes about after a purchase from award-winning international nightlife brand, Hyde (sbe). Hyde currently hosts properties in the U.S., with five in the pipeline in destinations like Doha and Singapore. Sydney is their third Australian opening, alongside Hyde Paradiso in the Gold Coast and Hyde Perth Kitchen + Cocktails.

The night began with celebrity DJ Havana Brown and Accor X sbe lifestyle ambassador (and PR guru) Roxy Jacenko arriving by super yacht. After a speech by Jacenko welcoming attendees to the night, Brown took to the decks — and the party just didn’t stop.

Inside, it’s all about banquettes overlooking one of the absolute best views in the city. The Harbour Bridge to one side, the glittering skyline of Circular Quay along the open window — it’s hard to describe how beautiful it is to watch sunset turn into night. Decor-wise, there are Instagram-worthy selections on the wall (a ‘Hyde’ flouro moment will be popular, along with ‘Rise Above It All’).

We were treated to a selection of some of the signature cocktails. (The menu has treats like the Coffee & Malt Old Fashioned and Chia Daiquiri served with a chia roll-up.) The bartenders’ attention to detail was wonderful to watch, as they assembled each and every cocktail to perfection. My favourite moment involved them hollowing out mini passionfruits and lighting alcohol-soaked sugar cubes on fire. If that — and the endless champagne — wasn’t enough to sate guests’ thirst, there was also a cute gimmick of an enormous bottle of rose that a friendly bartender would pour into glasses. Cute and memorable (I’m talking about the wine!).

Food-wise, Hacienda really shines. Other influencers and I were blown away by the quality of the food and the sheer tastiness of the ingredients. Whether it was whole prawns, or egg salad sandwiches, fried cheese-stuffed zucchini flowers, or ceviche tacos — every single thing we ate was perfection. Hyde Hacienda is someplace everyone will be able to go to get fed, and get fed well.

As the party went on, the night took a flamboyant turn. Bar staff paraded a huge cocktail with fireworks on top, and there was a memorble moment with a water gun hooked up to a champagne bottle that I’m really wishing didn’t make it’s way onto Instagram. That’s the thing about Hyde Hacienda: you’re going to have an amazing time — and you won’t know what to expect next.

I’m pleased to hear that they’re hosting all sorts of exclusive packages you can book in for. There’s ‘Hyde The Bride’, for hens’ dos; a ‘Veuve Clicquot Package’ that includes a personal bartender; and the ‘Bottomless Chandon Brunch’ with Chandon Rosé and South American brunch-style canapes. Plus there’s their famous New Year’s Eve party to book in for.

No matter the occasion, Hyde Hacienda caters for it all: from a weekend DJ session to a bottomless brunch, to catching up with a date over great food and fantastic drinks. And those panoramic harbour views are to die for.

See you at Hyde Hacienda!
