Disaronno Wears DIESEL Launch

Held at Bar M in Rushcutters Bay, the launch of Disaronno Wears Diesel showcased the new limited edition bottle — a tradition for the past seven years. Disaronno wears Diesel is a limited-edition bottle of the famous amaretto liquour wrapped in an eye-grabbing denim pattern to represent Diesel’s signature textile. The design reflects the synergies of the two brands: both are world-renowned, Italy-based companies that share a strong focus on promoting creativity and originality.

Disaronno is one of those amazing liqueurs that you’ve probably had in a cocktail or three (Amaretto sour, anyone?). The almond-based liqueur is straight from Italy, and is good with anything and everything. The Plus Ones are huge fans, so when we were invited to celebrate its partnership with Diesel, the iconic global streetwear branch, we jumped at the chance.

Walking into the cavernous confines of Bar M, my +1 (the artist Anahi Sanz) and I were stunned by an enormous Disaronno bottle hovering above the crowd, projected by moving images, along with more projections on the wall. The class Amaretto sour was our cocktail of choice, with two other amazing concoctions to savour. (See below for a recipe to create your own!) There was also an abundance of Italian-inspired food — the mushroom risotto being a standout favourite. We were treated to an astonishing circus performance: two amazing jeans-clad women treated us to a showstopping number on lyra hoops.

But more on the collaboration between the two iconic brands: #disaronnowearsdiesel is the star of the seventh edition of the Disaronno® Icon project, which involves teaming up with leading Italian designer labels every year. Past collaborations have included Trussardi, Missoni, ETRO, Cavalli, Versace and Moschino.

Their partner for 2019, Diesel is an internationally-recognized lifestyle brand that produces jeans, clothing and accessories. The company is proud of its social initiatives, branding efforts, and progressive thinking.

Through this project, Disaronno supports the OTB Foundation, Diesel’s parent company’s philanthropic arm, fully embracing its motto of “Brave Actions for a Better World.” In Italy and at a global level, the Foundation is involved in social initiatives focusing on three principles: sustainability, innovation and direct social impact.
