frankies

An afternoon at Frankies Food Factory

I’m pretty sure the weekend was made for long lunches and good company. Throw in a few watermelon and lychee slushies and you’re definitely in for a good time. Hence that’s why I was super excited to check out Glenhaven’s hidden gem of a cafe, Frankies Food Factory. A Hills girl myself, I loved the idea of checking out a local treasure and escaping the city for a little while.

Situated within the Flower Power Garden Centre, Frankies is an instant hidden oasis of hanging greenery and rustic decor. A great thing about this place is the space surrounding you. With a lake, sunroom and plenty of tables to feed a hungry tribe of friends – it really is the perfect place to spend some time on the weekend!

We were lucky enough to try a little taste of everything on the menu and it was all utterly delicious. Frankie’s lunch menu has flavour flares from all around the world, from prosciutto and ricotta salad, to penne crab and camembert melts superbly paired with cranberry dipping sauce. Just like a good book it was impossible to choose which dish was my favourite.

I just have to take a minute to talk about the dessert. Frankies won me over from the starters through to the main, but just when I thought it couldn’t get better, it did. From donut fries, cookies and cream churros to tumeric lattes I simply could not get enough. My favourite? The salted caramel pretzels served with vanilla bean gelato. Don’t worry though, calories don’t count on the weekend or any day for that matter.

Frankies have an extensive menu of delectable food, drinks and desserts to please any age. Open everyday from 8-5pm, it’s the only choice for your next coffee catch up. They even cater for group brunches and events. See you in the hills!
