Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema

The Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema has returned to Castle Hill Showground for its 4th year running this summer, bringing a month’s worth of movies that everyone can enjoy. From the latest blockbusters such as Justice League or Star Wars: The Last Jedi, to much-loved classics like Top Gun or Dirty Dancing, from January 11th to February 18th the showground is sure to screen something for everyone’s tastes.

Arriving with my plus one on opening night, we were both surprised as to incredible level of what was on offer for the night’s entertainment. With an assortment of food, drink, and seating areas available, we opted to enjoy a beer (or two) on the rooftop deck overlooking the showground whilst we waited for the movie, Daddy’s Home 2, to begin.

The viewing options for the night range from the general admission picnic-style lawn, to the Smooth FM premium seating area, and lastly, several luxury private tents that can fit up to eight people and include a private butler for all your food and drink needs. On top of these options, each night there is a lucky door prize, with the winners treated to a ‘drive-in’ movie experience, enjoying the film with popcorn and sparkling wine from the back of a brand new Infiniti SUV.

With beer, wine, and spirits available, on a warm summer’s evening the most popular beverage was Pimm’s Original, with most cinema-goers partnering their refreshments with huge slices of pizza freshly made by Epic Pizza, followed by all sorts of sweet and savoury snacks from the Candy Bar.

If laying back on a beanbag, comfortable lounge chair, or bed; sharing great food and drink with friends and family; and enjoying a movie under the stars sounds like your kind of night, the Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema is where to go.
