This month sees Carriageworks – the cultural hub of Sydney, present Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia once again. This time round designers are presenting their Resort collections for 2018, so expect swimwear/athleisure to feature heavily. The six-day event provides a vital platform for Australia’s most successful designers to showcase their latest collections to the world’s buyers and press.
The Australian fashion scene continues to become more established and influential with every passing season, and it is becoming increasingly common for international press to travel huge distances to see the shows. PITT STREET MALL LIVE STREAM
If you fancy catching the runway action as it happens, head to Pitt Street Mall in the heart of the city where they legitimately live stream the runway shows! So you can see the trends unveiled at the same time as the industry professionals do, how awesome is that? I recommend heading there for the iconic Sass & Bide show as they return to showing in Sydney for the first time since 2003.

This season we welcome back the ‘Weekend Edition’ of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia with open arms. This event is a fantastic way for consumers to experience a taste of fashion week. The weekend is set to be a busy one with runway shows, seminars and masterclasses to keep you occupied.

‘THE SUITES’ LAUNCH TO HELP EMERGING TALENT
An exciting new venture named ‘The Suites’ will be launched onsite at Carriageworks especially for fashion week. A space where on and off schedule designers will be able to talk directly to industry professionals, the opening of ‘The Suites’ marks a huge step forward for Australian fashion, and will allow give emerging talent such as We are Kindred, the opportunity to flourish. Super exciting! Watch this space.
