Heineken toasted the incredible success of their new lower calorie lager ‘Heineken 3’ by throwing a summer soaked celebration ‘Great Taste of Summer’ held at the iconic and beautiful Watson’s Bay Boutique Hotel.

Heineken ran a campaign offering a money-back guarantee to anyone who didn’t think that their new mid strength lager didn’t taste great. The campaign was so successful Heineken couldn’t help but reward their dedicated drinkers with an afternoon featuring all things ‘great taste.’

The epic venue was the ultimate setting for the chilled-out afternoon. We were greeted by beautiful Heineken girls dressed in white tennis dresses for the occasion. The atmosphere was carefree from the start when we were handed a refreshing bottle of Heineken 3 on arrival.

The lager has a cool refreshing taste with a slightly floral flavour, and was the perfect drink for the long sunny afternoon ahead. The Heineken girls were fabulous at getting the guests involved, circulating the top deck adorning guests with festival chic floral headbands. We were also treated to some delicious light snacks including mini fish and chips, perfect for the occasion.

After enjoying the refreshing lager we spotted that Heineken cocktails were on offer as well. Since it would be rude not to sample everything available, I walked around with a ‘Copacabana Mule’ in one hand and a ‘Summer Splash’ in the other. Both had a great balance of flavour, although I ended up favouring the vodka-based ‘Copacabana’ while my plus one stuck to the ‘Splash’, which was Campari based, garnished with a slice of orange.

The event was very social and there were plenty of interactive areas for guests to mingle in. Photographers snapped away as people posed with their Heineken cocktails, handing them printed copies as keepsakes. The whole event was totally Instagrammable.

Headline act Kilter definitely didn’t disappoint. With his infectious summer sound he took the crowd from afternoon to evening expertly. His electro beats were so catchy and uplifting, the whole place could be seen enjoying the insane sunset while feeding off his feel good vibes. Definitely an afternoon (and a beer!) to remember.
