Hugh Jackman is returning home late November; and as if this wasn’t exciting enough, his announcement about the reason of his coming has fans even more eager for his arrival. The award winning star is bringing a five-city arena concert tour to Australia, titled Hugh Jackman – Broadway to Oz. This production is based on his hit Broadway show – Back on Broadway.
The concert is, according to the much loved Aussie actor, a way to get to know the true Hugh. It is all about him and includes all his favourite songs from his favourite shows. Around 150 talented singers and dancers will be featured, as well as some special guests whom haven’t yet been revealed. He says that one of the reasons he is so excited about this tour is the ‘unbelievable Aussie talent’ that will be involved.
The Hollywood star describes this show as being a family show; he wrote it with his own family and what they would enjoy in mind. He’s expecting audiences to ‘have a blast’. He will even be showing some home video footage, with a lot of behind the scenes stories and many surprises, and he promises fans that as well as singing, he will be dancing on stage more than ever before.
Hugh and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness are thrilled to have an excuse to be back home in Australia. He admits that he doesn’t read anyone else’s reviews – his wife’s is the only one that matters to him, and he took note of her reaction when she watched this show. “She never fell asleep in the entire show. This has only happened twice in our 20-year marriage that she has not fallen asleep at a theatre show or movie.”
The concert tour will be kicking off in Melbourne on the 24th of November, and will be spread out over 8 dates in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, and Brisbane. Tickets for this not to be missed event go on sale on Monday, 31st August from Ticketek.
