Melbourne winters can sometimes leave us feeling a little blue, but fear not, cheese lovers! A slice of the French Alps has magically landed right in the heart of the city at Fed Square, and it’s bringing all the cosy vibes we need to get through the chill.
The brilliant minds behind the oh-so-popular Raclette Igloo have conjured up a new immersive experience called the Fondue Chalet. Nestled amongst the beautiful Melbourne cityscape at Fed Square, a very charming French alpine village has sprung up, complete with private (and utterly adorable) chalets. Think snug ski lodges just begging for you to settle in with a mulled wine.
This isn’t just about grabbing a quick bite; it’s a full-on foodie experience for you to share with friends.
We’re talking about the comforting aroma of traditional French fondue, perfect for dipping the huge basket of crusty bread you’ll get into (and maybe even sneaking in an extra dunk of the gooey cheese). Dialing up the winter warmth with a big cozy mug of tasty mulled wine is a must as you watch the snow machine work its magic by their snowflake entrance.
We also loved sitting by the crackling fire pits dotted around the popup village, toasting our marshmallows. It’s the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to snuggle up.
This pop-up is here for a good time, not a long time. It’s a unique opportunity to gather your favourite people, forget your winter blues and embrace the cosyness of our cooler months.
Each booking lasts for 1 hour in the chalet and some extra time by the firepit to toast some yummy marshmallows. We found that was plenty of time to dip, sip, and enjoy the alpine vibes.
If you’re also getting the optional oh-so-rich chocolate fondue, give yourself about 2 hours. Groups of 6-8 people can fit in each cozy chalet so more the merrier!
If you’re looking for a way to spice up your winter and fancy a fondue-tiful evening, make sure you book your space and head down to Fed Square.
These chalets are calling your name, promising a taste of the Alps right here in Melbourne. Don’t miss out before this cheesy haven disappears!
