There’s nothing quite like an afternoon in the Yarra Valley, and our recent visit to Cherry Hill in Coldstream was a standout. We were warmly greeted with Cherry Bellini’s, which were bursting with Cherry Hill’s signature cherry liqueur. The welcome drinks gave us just the right amount of cheer for an experience that was all about cherries in every way.
Once we were settled in, it was time to board the bus to the cherry orchard. With buckets in hand, we made our way into the rows of cherry trees, picking and tasting to our hearts’ content. Fresh, sweet, and ripe, the cherries were absolutely delicious, and we munched away without holding back! Once the sun peeked out of the clouds, it made the whole setting even lovelier, and we found ourselves losing track of time in the scenic orchard.
After we’d picked more cherries than we could carry, we hopped back on the bus to find a booze-filled cherry caravan waiting for us. There, we indulged in another round of Cherry Bellini’s and tasted some unique cherry ice cream that was as refreshing and fruity. The cherry theme didn’t end there; we also enjoyed a tasting platter brimming with local Yarra Valley cheeses and a cherry pate. The creamy, tangy flavours paired perfectly with our cherry treats, adding a savoury touch to the afternoon.
Before heading home, we wandered through the gift shop, where we picked up some cans of cherry cider. These ciders were some of the best we’d tasted, a must-try for any cherry enthusiast.
All in all, our afternoon at Cherry Hill was a total spring vibe. For anyone looking to escape the city and immerse themselves in cherry goodness, this is an absolute must-visit destination. Cherry-picking season only comes once a year, so don’t miss out on this delicious experience!
