Ridin’ Hearts Festival 2024: A Celebration of Country Music in Melbourne

Sunday’s Ridin’ Hearts Festival brought the spirit of Nashville straight to Melbourne’s Caribbean Gardens, captivating music lovers from all across Victoria. From the moment I stepped onto the festival grounds and heard the roar of the crowd, I knew this was no ordinary event. The infectious energy, the sea of cowboy hats, and the passion for country music created an electric atmosphere that set this festival apart.

The crowd was a colourful mix of die-hard country fans, from rugged cowboys in mud-clad boots to Taylor Swift fans and sparkle-loving ladies in pink cowboy hats, all united by their love of country music.

The festival’s lineup featured a star-studded blend of international and local talent. Canadian stars MacKenzie Porter and Josh Ross, along with Australia’s own Casey Barnes, kept the crowd buzzing with powerful performances throughout the day. Riley Green closed the night with a soulful set that celebrated the heart and soul of country music, leaving fans wanting more.

One of the standout acts of the day was Cooper Alan. His energy was simply infectious, pumping up the crowd as he embraced Aussie culture by doing a “shoey” on stage! Cooper’s performance of “Take Forever (Hally’s Song)” was a highlight, with his deep vocals winning over the audience. He even treated fans to country themed covers of popular classics.

Ridin’ Hearts Festival wasn’t just about the music; it was an immersive experience. Merch stands offered everything country—from cowboy hats to country-themed apparel—making it easy for fans to get in the spirit. Under a sunny sky, the scene felt like a Nashville showground, with rustic decorations, line-dancing breakout sessions, and even a silent disco at the appropriately named “Lone Spur Saloon.”

With its unforgettable mix of music, culture, and country camaraderie, Ridin’ Hearts Festival is a must for all country music lovers. To learn more or get tickets for next year’s festival, visit the official website here.
