Tequila lovers unite! Melbourne’s premier tequila and agave festival, I Hart Agave, is coming this month, and you don’t want to miss it. Get ready to taste tequila, mezcal, sotol, and raicilla, to your heart’s content from over 25 distilleries.
Re-stock your spirits cabinet, meet the makers, indulge in a cheeky marg, and learn about your favourite spirits during expert Q & A and masterclass sessions. And of course, any tequila festival would not be complete without a taco food truck and frozen margarita bar. The festival is hosted at Whitehart Bar, Melbourne CBD’s funky open air shipping container hidden gem; the perfect background for a lazy afternoon of tequila goodness.
Created by Well That’s Neat, the masterminds behind I Hart Rum, the new festival is designed to celebrate the often overlooked and sometimes underappreciated agave spirits, which are quickly growing in popularity across Australia.
We were fortunate to have a sneak peek of the venue and a few tequila-y cocktails which were exquisite. We also learned how to make the perfect margarita from award-winning mixologist Daniel monk.

Tickets start from $37.5 and include entry to a 3-hour session, your very own tasting glass, and tastings of some of the greatest tequila, agave, and mezcal products in Australia. Each session will bring an opportunity to meet over 20 different suppliers with multiple brands across both floors, and gain access to a roaming tasting, as well as access (via registration) to a full day of masterclasses and seminars.
