PO PO MO CO at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival

PO PO MO CO have had a tremendously successful run, season after season, entertaining audiences at festivals with stunningly visual and exceptionally creative sketches. This year, troupe have returned to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with the full tale of ‘Nosfer-ARSE-tu’, a bold, queer, sexually-charged, gothic pantomime that titillates without relent, and demands your attention.

This is a show that delivers upon its absolute promise from the get-go. The commitment to the pantomime shtick is turned up to eleven, rewarding a responsive crowd with absolute love and dedication to the genre. The performances are driven by the responses, and are played with such enjoyment and vigour that it is impossible not to get swept up in the theatrics and communal fun vibe within the room.

The costumes and set are absolutely stunning. From the colourful curtained arch, to the hands-down best visual comedy character of the entire festival, it is clear that the troupe will always deliver their unique and intrepid style of comedy with such an outright devotion and sense of inventiveness on every occasion.

PO PO MO CO have a spectacular following, so expect to miss out on this extravaganza without a booking. Once inside, be prepared to contribute as much reaction as possible. The characters are extreme, the smuttiness is deliberately consistent, (yet also peppered with informative quips), and the more an audience loses themselves, the grander the satisfaction achieved. Expect a creative ending like no other.
