Canadian Club Racquet Club pops up at the Australian Open

Canadian Club and summer go hand in hand, honestly, what could be better than a thirst crushing CC, lime & dry under the sun? Well, the Canadian Club Racquet Club is here to make all those summer dreams come true.

The Racquet Club is perched hillside along the Yarra in the Australian Open zone, just a few steps down from Federation Square. The Plus Ones were lucky enough to be invited down to the opening night for some frosty CCs on tap.

If you missed out on scoring courtside tickets — or like me, just want to be closer to the bar — then the Racquet Club is the place to be. My favourite area is the hillside beanbag chairs that overlook all the action on the big screen. If you’re similar to me and can’t stomach too many beers, CC and dry on tap with a squeeze of time goes down a treat. It’s light and refreshing with just enough bite to quench the strongest thirst.

There are lots of gourmet food choices to accompany your evening, with offerings including Hunky Dory, Ginger Boy and Biggy Smalls all providing some delicious options. It was a gorgeous summer afternoon so I had to go with the classic fish and chips from Hunky Dory which was fresh and crunchy.

If tennis is not your jam, there is no need to worry: there is plenty else on the cards for entertainment, including regular sets from Anyo, one of Melbourne’s most respected DJs alongside a set from Miami Horror which is on this Saturday evening.

Entry to the Canadian Club Racquet Club is free! So you have no excuses not to check it out. It’s running until the 28th of January and will be screening all the live action from the Australian Open including the grand slams.
