The Pleasure Garden rocks Catani Gardens in St. Kilda

The Pleasure Garden was back for its-much awaited second installment at the lush Catani Gardens in St. Kilda. It was one of the most-praised events last year. Somehow, the team managed to raise the bar yet again in 2017.

The Pleasure Garden is inspired by the boutique festivals you will find across Europe that spare no expense on the punters’ experience. Inside the doors of The Pleasure Garden you will find roving bands, stilt walkers, flocks of fruit-carrying birds and various creatures of mystique. The music mix is eclectic with something to suit every taste, with a focus on showcasing the brilliant local talent that Australia has to offer.

Highlights of the day were a rocking drum’n’base set from DJ Chelsea Brown and Fat Freddy’s Drop slaying as always, but the big gong goes to Baker Boy. Baker Boy brought the crowd to town with their energetic mix of beats, vocals and killer moves that left us all on a high for the rest of the day’s festivities.

One of the most memorable shenanigans of the day was my plus one getting his kit off and jumping into the spa in front of a crowd full of punters. Yeah that’s right — there was a full size-spa on the dance floor. EPIC!

The festival also upped its food offerings on the day, with a huge selection of sustainable food outlets filling the market space. It was so hard to choose that I ended up splitting four meals with my mates. Vegalicious came out as the bomb-diggity.

The Pleasure Garden is definitely the hot ticket of the festival season and this year proved its place up there with the best. Make sure you get your green thumb in early next year for an experience to remember!
