Collins Square Melbourne

A Ladies’ Lunch at Collins Square

Put together an intimate group of food bloggers, TV presenters, and fashionistas. Add food, coffee, and shopping and you have one fabulously lovely event with a lot of laughs. Mayday Collective hosted an all-women outing at the new Collins Square development, moments from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne.

The place has everything! There is a gym, spa, cobbler, chemist, and a number of excellent Melbourne standard coffee places. And so much food.

We started with Proud Mary coffee at Meister then moved on to a spread of too many good things to mention, from Mexican to Japanese. Highlights included burrito bowls of pulled chicken or tofu, nori tacos, and the group’s unanimous favorite, spiced sweet potato chips.

After our food excursion, we were gifted treats from the Ella Baché spa, and taken on a shopping spree at Capsule Pharmacy. They stock everything from makeup to treats from Melbourne brands like jeweller Nicole Fendel, soaps, candles and teas from Husk and sweets from Koko Black. They even stocked my favorite bamboo underwear from Boody.

After lunch, we were given the tour of Collins Square. The architecture is beautiful. It is impressive how they manage to have such functional organizations (such as the Australian Passport Office) next to a spa and somehow it is cohesive.

I imagine on a sunny day the high ceilings and glass would be stunning, but even on a cold rainy Melbourne day the space at Collins Square managed to feel cozy.
