Bienvenue, Mesdames et Messieurs! Welcome to BLANC de BLANC: the sexy new cabaret spectacle hitting St. Kilda’s winter foreshore festival, Map 57. The theme of the show revolves entirely around the joys of a good bottle of sparkling white: how to open it, how to pour it, and the sexy, outrageous results when it is consumed. It’s hilarious. It’s naughty. And mon Dieu! It’s certainly not for kids!*

Once you set foot inside the Aurora Spiegeltent, your senses become completely awash in the champagne-infused reverie. To set the scene, imagine a troupe of acrobats is thrown into the Moulin Rouge. Seamless performances are interwoven perfectly into a heady mix of death-defying acrobatics, some rather naughty theatre and hysterical, laugh-out-loud comedy.

The ensemble of acts is designed to titillate and intrigue, and it unashamedly delivers more than a few raunchy surprises. From beginning to end, this is an immersive experience where performers clad in corsets and suspenders frequently move amongst the crowd and be warned, there is definitely audience participation!

What I loved most about this show was its flagrantly sexual and playful nature; a pitch-perfect performance that gave the audience permission to let their hair down and laugh. You will cheer, you will gasp, and you will scream with laughter. BLANC de BLANC is a pure delight of entertainment — I honestly didn’t want the show to end!

BLANC de BLANC is just one of the featured attractions at Melbourne’s latest arts festival: Map 57 – St Kilda’s Winter Wonderland. Map 57 is a situated in the ‘St Kilda Triangle’, in Jacka Boulevard next to the Palais Theatre.

A vibrant seaside fairground in true Melbournian style, you can choose from gourmet foodtruck-variety eats, grab a drink at the licenced bar inside a disused tram, and get cosy around bonfires under sparkling fairy lights. (Did someone say ‘date night’?) There are carnival rides, sideshows, and an ice skating rink to help you celebrate the cold!

Map57 is open every day except Monday, so check the times or download the brochure to plan your visit.
