The Time Out Pub Awards celebrate everything we love about our public houses, from after work bevs that get us through the week, to hearty meals by the fire place that make winter a lot more inviting. Supporting Melbourne’s pubs has never been more vital, with the recent loss of some old favourites there has never been a better excuse to head to your local.
The awards were hosted by craft beer mecca Forester’s Hall, Collingwood. With 42 beers on tap, and fresh from a re-design earlier in the year, the place could not be more fitting for a salute to the best. Beverage sponsors on the night were from Estate Wines, The Hills Cider, and brews by Yenda Beer.
And the winners are….
Best Pub Food – The Woodlands Hotel
Best Beer List – The Alehouse Project
Pub Revival Award – Garden State Hotel
Best Entertainment – The Gasometer Hotel
Best Sports Pub – Mt View Hotel
Old School Pub Award – Labour in Vain
Publican of the Year – Jessica McGrath, Mark Pratt and Billy the Pub Dog, Palace Hotel, South Melbourne
People’s Choice: Best Pub – The Local Taphouse
People’s Choice: Best Regional Pub – The Wandi Pub, Wandiligong

Your plans for this weekend are now sorted revisiting this list of awesome pubs. You will probably see me along the way doing the same. Cheers to that!
