Chelsea Zeller High Achievers

Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2017: Chelsea Zeller – High Achievers

With the rise in life coaches and self-help seminars, Chelsea Zeller takes the opportunity to make a mockery of this industry in her one-woman show, High Achievers.

Zeller shows her ability to step into a variety of characters as the audience are treated to a series of motivational speakers, hosted by professional life coach Lyn Howard (you could be forgiven for thinking Lyn looked very similar to Zeller herself). Lyn seems to have her life in order, but does she really?

Lyn calls upon a variety of characters to impart their wisdom and reveal the secrets to their life’s successes. We are treated to insights from an Australian hip hop artist and TV talent show judge, a zoologist who has spent sixty years in the South American jungles studying sloths, and a former Australian test cricketer.

Zeller’s versatility is impressive as she steps in and out of each of the characters, portraying each of them with distinct voices and mannerisms. The audience is drawn into the show and becomes engaged with the characters as they delve into their stories. They are encouraged to get involved with high fives and cheering, and they become part of an interactive audience.

Chelsea Zeller fills the room with her energy and together with her writers Tim Smith and Michael Syme, from The Comedy Company, delivers a show that has everyone laughing. There is no doubt that people will be seeing more of Zeller in the future.
