Section 8 Celebrates 11 Years of Success

Relaxing yet funky spots in Melbourne’s CBD for live music and a drink with friends are far and few between. However, for the last 11 years a little shipping container on a parking lot just off Little Bourke Street has been a go to spot for those in the know. Section 8 celebrated 11 years of bringing great music and vibes to Melbourne with a mammoth party, inviting all of Melbourne to experience the venue at its best.

We were lucky enough to test out the newly launched food menu, a whole lot of perfect sharing plates for you and your pals (beetroot salad and pork crisps anyone?), along with quintessential Cooper’s longnecks. Add in the glory of an amazing music lineup including Tall Black Guy from the U.S and some great live rap and DJ’s, and throw in the extra ambience of every punter stopping conversation to applaud one of the rappers after each song.

The afternoon began as a perfect quiet Sunday session, with some beers and amazing cocktails (I’ve decided all of my cocktails need half a passionfruit on top now). The moment when the DJ’s took over the decks and people started pouring in for a dance and some light dinner, I decided it was definitely my idea of a perfect birthday party.
