Melbourne’s best November events: fill your diary with these

We’ve got it all for you in November. Craft markets. Outdoor films. An espresso martini festival. There’s also a party called ‘Choose Your Own Queer Adventure’, alongside the annual harvest of the first French grapes for a special wine. Mark these events in your diaries.

Espresso Martini Festival

Espresso Martini Festival

The Sunset Cinema (4-26 November)
The newest outdoor cinema in Melbourne takes over Gasworks Arts Park in South Melbourne. Read our guide to The Sunset Cinema’s debut Melbourne program.

Mr. Black Espresso Martini Festival (4-6 November)
What kind of Melburnians would we be if we didn’t tell you about this? While it’s sold out, there is a waitlist. Or hang around outside Meat Market with a sign saying ‘Extra ticket?’ and see if you can be a caffiend’s +1.

The Moth in Melbourne (Mon. 7 November)
The most famous storytelling night in the world has a home in Melbourne. All tales need to be true and five minutes long. Watch or participate in this month’s theme, ‘Nine to Five’.

Melbourne Music Week (11-19 November)
Musos’ favourite time of the year returns. What cool venues, what great bands, are there to discover? Dive in over the eight-day program and find out.

Unicorns – Choose Your Own Queer Adventure (Sat. 12 November)
They say it best: ‘If you haven’t experienced a trip to Unicorns before, imagine the queer warehouse party of your wet dreams! Then throw in a lot of amazing performance art, quality tunes, body paint and you’re probably half way there.’

The Moth in Melbourne June 2016

La Fête Du Beaujolais Nouveau (Thurs. 17 November)
Celebrations erupt all over France — and worldwide — when the first bottles of new beaujolais wine are opened. After a three-year hiatus, the Alliance Française de Melbourne hosts a huge party, French-style.

Etsy Made Local Melbourne Market (Sat. 19 November)
The holidays are around the corner. How about supporting a local Victorian craftsperson at this pop-up market? (Psst… Etsy’s website is addictive, but it’s even better seeing the wares IRL.)

Terminus Hotel Craft Showdown: Victorian Lager-off (Sat. 26 November)
We’re huge fans of the Terminus Hotel’s series of craft beer showdowns. This time, it’s all about showcasing Victoria’s best craft breweries and their lagers. Best of all, punters are the ones deciding the champion.

Polo in the City (Sat. 26 November)
A magical day out in the sunshine, we relive the Pretty Woman scene last year, much to our delight. It’s sold out, so post in the Facebook event to try to score a last-minute ticket.

Starward Distillery open day (Sat. 26 November)
It’s not every day that a distillery opens in Port Melbourne — invites the public for a big hootenanny. Starward is a fantastic whisky. We can’t wait to take a free tour and see what they have in store for the future.

It was nearly impossible to narrow this down to a mere 10 events. Which is why you’re in luck — we’re constantly adding to our curated calendar. Join our VIP mailing list so you don’t miss out, and make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more throughout November.
