Sister of Society – Prahran’s new late-night eatery and brewhouse

Chapel Street has a new sister. She’s charming, sophisticated, and always down for a good time.

Meet Sister of Society – Prahran’s newest late night eatery and brew house with a mega dose of style. As a Prahran local myself, I spend all weekend on Chapel Street and have been walking past Sister of Society for several weeks now wondering what it was all about. I was elated when my invite for the launch party came via The Plus Ones.

Sister of Society

The launch was buzzing with locals, foodies and celebrities. A DJ spun house jams and the dark dining room with red neon lights plastered on the wall assured me that I was at the hottest Tuesday night party this side of the river.

The party was a progressive grazing canape dinner beginning with savoury halloumi topped watermelon slices and getting more and more interesting as the night progressed. The marinated BBQ prawns with Thai chili almond creme and fresh lime were delicious, but ‘Birramisu’ was the dish to take the cake (pardon the pun). Tiramisu-style sponge biscuit infused with local Mornington Brown Ale layered with crème. A lick lipping twist on a favourite classic!

Sister of Society is all about collaboration and sharing – if you couldn’t guess from the name. All dishes are designed to share with your hands, paired up with local brews or a delicious cocktail. Delectable food, good friends and a down to earth atmosphere – the perfect ingredients for a great night!
